Country Outfitters Giveaway

www.countryoutfitter.com

I recently had a chance to try out a pair of Laredo Boots from Country Outfitter.  I chose the Laredo Women's Canyon Boot in Tan distressed.  I had a really tough time choosing which pair of boots I wanted to try, they had such a fantastic selection!
My boots arrived within a week of ordering and I was so excited to try them out. I've long preferred a pair of boots over any other type of shoe.  I'm on my feet a lot at work and the only thing I've found that ensures my back isn't killing me when I get off work, is my cowboy boots. Anyway, they arrived and I tried them on, perfect fit! I can wear thin socks and they don't move around on my feet, yet there is enough room for me to wear heavy socks during the winter months without them being too tight.

I love these because I can wear them with jeans or with a skirt and it will still look great! They are very high quality, well constructed, and there's no doubt they will last a good long time! I love the higher heel, which makes them suitable for wearing with a skirt. The stitching is solid and there is no worry about the stitching ever coming out.  These are high quality leather boots that I would recommend to anyone!

Candles from Jewelry Candles Giveaway

Review and Giveaway by: Elitemama

Jewelry Candles was inspired by the famous classic movie, Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. A great classic movie that everyone has pretty much seen. The people at the company love the movie and thought that it would be awesome to do their own Willie Wonka type concept. Instead of having golden tickets inside of a chocolate bar, you will find jewelry in these all natural soy candles. With Jewelry Candles, everyone is a winner =) Inside of all the candles there is a hidden jewel that can be worth anywhere from $10 to $7,500. In the candle you could find a ring, necklace, pendant, bracelet, anklet, or even a pair of earrings. You never know what you will find in your candle, but it will always be a fabulous piece of jewelry.

Jewelry Candles are made with 100% natural soy and premium quality fragrances making these candles smell amazing. There are LOTS of scents to choose from. The candles are huge! They are 21 oz and have a burn time anywhere from 110 hours to 150 hours so you get a lot of bang and fragrance for your buck. Each candle is hand poured with love from Louisville, Kentucky. There is nothing like having a fresh and clean smelling home in the fall.

Review:
I was excited to have the opportunity to review one of the lovely Candles from Jewelry Candles. Not only was I excited, I was was practically jumping up and down like a kid in a candy store, lol. My kids even looked at me funny as well. So, I got to choose a candle and I chose the Pink Love candle. Now before I go on about the candle, I want to let all of you know about the shipping. The shipping was excellent. The candle arrived extremely fast, I mean in like less than 2 days fast. And the best part was the packaging. When it came to the packaging, that candle was sealed and protected. I mean it was covered in so much bubble wrap, the candle could have made it though a battle, lol. It was great. That right there shows that Jewelry Candles takes care of there products and wants their customers to be completely satisfied.

Here is the lovely candle

Originally the label on the candle was covering the area where the jewelry "marker" is, but I moved it so you can get a visual of where to expect your jewelry when you get your candle. It doesn't always end up in the same place as mine happened to be. It could be a bit higher.

The candle has to wicks so it gives you a nice even burn. No need to worry about the candles tunneling through one side leaving the other side waxy, lol. The smell of the candle when it is burning is so relaxing and calm. I love it and there is no harsh or pungent odor either when it is being burned.

And now, for the best part. Are you ready? Lookie =)

As you can see in one part of the photo the foil is peaking through the wax. That is when you are ready to open your prize. I got this lovely heart shaped ring. It fits perfect with the candles. And I'm letting you know this ahead of time, the jewelry is top knotch. I have a scensitivity to jewelry causing me to break out, but with the ring that I got in my candle, I had no issues at all. I even wore the ring for three days straight to see if I would have a reaction and nothing. So you know right then and there that Jewelry Candles uses high quality jewelry in their candles along with a high quality candle =) Once you have tried Jewelry Candles, you will be hooked. Check out my youtube video to learn more.

Enter to win a Jewelry Candle of your own
2 winners will be chosen
Candles will be selected at random by Jewelry Candles

The Toe Juice Giveaway Hosted by Mommy Lesson Plans

The Toe Juice Giveaway Hosted by Mommy Lesson Plans

Nothing like a great giveaway to start your day!
I live in the desert. Normal footwear for me are sandals and flip flops. As you can imagine, this does a real number on my feet. My heels are in very poor condition six months out of the year. I get such deep cracks that I bleed. I know - gross. But I have to tell you this so that you can understand what Toe Juice has done for me.
The first couple of days, I wondered if this was going to work. I didn't see much of a difference at first. I found out that it was really effective if I applied the Toe Juice after filing my heals. After two weeks, the deep cracks were gone. No more bleeding. My feet still have cracks, but they are superficial. I can tell that if I use the Toe Juice more, I will eventually get rid of all the cracks. I didn't just stop there. I have flaking around my eyebrows. I used the Toe Juice on my eyebrows, and it cleared up quite quickly.

Toe Juice is made from Dermavine; which are plant based extracts. It is safe for all ages and races. It is recommended that it be applied twice a day for 10-14 days. The company has deals running regularly and has coupons on its website.
Prize: One Toe Juice Combo Kit
The event dates: 9/20-10/4

This event would not become possible without the participation of these amazing co-hosts: Giveaway Gator , Couponing with Integrity, and Pea of Sweetness.

“SAVING MR. BANKS” BEGINS PRODUCTION IN LOS ANGELES

Los Angeles, Calif., September 19, 2012—Disney began production today on “Saving Mr. Banks,” the account of Walt Disney’s twenty-year pursuit of the film rights to P.L. Travers’ popular novel, Mary Poppins, and the testy partnership the upbeat filmmaker develops with the uptight author during the project’s pre-production in 1961.

Two-time Academy Award®-winner Tom Hanks (“Philadelphia,” “Forrest Gump”) will essay the role of the legendary Disney (the first time the entrepreneur has ever been depicted in a dramatic film) alongside fellow double Oscar®-winner Emma Thompson (“Howard’s End,” “Sense and Sensibility”) in the role of the prickly novelist.  Before actually signing away the book’s rights, Travers’ demands for contractual script and character control circumvent not only Disney’s vision for the film adaptation, but also those of the creative team of screenwriter Don DaGradi and sibling composers Richard and Robert Sherman, whose original score and song (Chim-Chim-Cher-ee) would go on to win Oscars® at the 1965 ceremonies (the film won five awards of its thirteen nominations).

When Travers travels from London to Hollywood in 1961 to finally discuss Disney’s desire to bring her beloved character to the motion picture screen (a quest he began in the 1940s as a promise to his two daughters), Disney meets a prim, uncompromising sexagenarian not only suspect of the impresario’s concept for the film, but a woman struggling with her own past.  During her stay in California, Travers’ reflects back on her childhood in 1906 Australia, a trying time for her family which not only molded her aspirations to write, but one that also inspired the characters in her 1934 book.

None more so than the one person whom she loved and admired more than any other—her caring father, Travers Goff, a tormented banker who, before his untimely death that same year, instills the youngster with both affection and enlightenment (and would be the muse for the story’s patriarch, Mr. Banks, the sole character that the famous nanny comes to aide).  While reluctant to grant Disney the film rights, Travers comes to realize that the acclaimed Hollywood storyteller has his own motives for wanting to make the film—which, like the author, hints at the relationship he shared with his own father in the early 20th Century Midwest.

Colin Farrell (“Minority Report,” “Total Recall”) co-stars as Travers’ doting dad, Goff, along with British actress Ruth Wilson (the forthcoming films “The Lone Ranger” and “Anna Karenina”) as his long-suffering wife, Margaret; Oscar® and Emmy® nominee Rachel Griffiths (“Six Feet Under,” “Hilary and Jackie,” “The Rookie”) as Margaret’s sister, Aunt Ellie (who inspired the title character of Travers’ novel); and a screen newcomer—11-year-old Aussie native Annie Buckley as the young, blossoming writer, nicknamed “Ginty” in the flashback sequences.

The cast also includes Emmy® winner Bradley Whitford (“The West Wing,” “The Cabin in the Woods”) as screenwriter Don DaGradi; Jason Schwartzman (“Rushmore,” “Moonrise Kingdom”) and B.J. Novak (“NBC’s “The Office,” “Inglourious Basterds”) as the songwriting Sherman Brothers (Richard and Robert, respectively); Oscar® nominee and Emmy winner Paul Giamatti (“Sideways,” “Cinderella Man,” HBO’s “John Adams”) as Ralph, the kindly limousine driver who escorts Travers during her two-week stay in Hollywood; and multi-Emmy winner Kathy Baker (“Picket Fences,” “Edward Scissorhands”) as Tommie, one of Disney’s trusted studio associates.

“Saving Mr. Banks” will be directed by John Lee Hancock (“The Blind Side,” “The Rookie”) based on a screenplay by Kelly Marcel (creator of FOX-TV’s “Terra Nova”), from a story by Sue Smith (“Brides of Christ,” “Bastard Boys”) and Kelly Marcel.  The film is being produced by Alison Owen of Ruby Films (the Oscar®-nominated “Elizabeth,” HBO’s Emmy®-winning “Temple Grandin”), Ian Collie of Essential Media (the Aussie TV documentary “The Shadow of Mary Poppins,” DirecTV’s “Rake”) and longtime Hancock collaborator Philip Steuer (“The Rookie,” “The Chronicles of Narnia” trilogy).  The film’s executive producers are Ruby Films’ Paul Trijbits (“Lay the Favorite,” “Jane Eyre”), Hopscotch Features’ Andrew Mason (“The Matrix” trilogy, “Dark City”) and Troy Lum (“Mao’s Last Dancer,” “I, Frankenstein”) and BBC Films’ Christine Langan (Oscar® nominee for “The Queen,” “We Need to Talk About Kevin”).

Hancock’s filmmaking team includes a trio of artists with whom he worked on his 2009 Best Picture Oscar® nominee, “The Blind Side”—two-time Oscar® nominated production designer Michael Corenblith (“How The Grinch Stole Christmas,” “Apollo 13”), Emmy®-winning costume designer Daniel Orlandi (HBO’s “Game Change,” “Frost/Nixon”) and film editor Mark Livolsi, A.C.E. (“Wedding Crashers” “The Devil Wears Prada”).  Hancock also reunites with Academy Award®-nominated cinematographer John Schwartzman (“Seabiscuit,” “Pearl Harbor”), with whom he first worked on his inspiring 2002 sports drama, “The Rookie.”

“Saving Mr. Banks” will film entirely in the Los Angeles area, with key locations to include Disneyland in Anaheim and the Disney Studios in Burbank.  Filming will conclude around Thanksgiving, 2012, with no specific 2013 release date yet set.

A Fundraiser!

I am currently working on a fundraiser to help a Mother/Daughter team fight leukaemia. This fundraiser is my first with Thirty One Gifts and I am so excited to be a part of it. I have also decided that any individual orders I receive in the timeframe of their fundraiser (September 16-28) I will donate that commission to them as well. I feel so blessed to be able to help out. I cannot wait to share the results with everyone!

Pickin in the Panhandle!

So for the 2nd year, Kenny decided to compete in the Backyard Competition of Pickin in the Panhandle. He is really into the BBQing and its a fun hobby. Better than what some wives and husbands call hobbies, hes home, hes not out and about doing God only knows and these are family events so the girls are welcome there.

He was a team of 1 this year. The guy that helped him last year entered the parenting world when his son was born in July so he was the only cook this year. His one buddy and shift member set up camp with him and also spent the whole weekend with him.

They had an awesome camp site, close to the stage, awesome view of the whole thing. The weather was awesome after it finished raining. It was cool and a perfect evening. The girls spent the evening with Nanny and Pap and I was thankful for it. We havent had a kid free evening in a while.

Once the weekend was over, Kenny brought home all the leftovers and we chowed down. This pork BBQ was awesome and he placed 9th!!!!!! I am so proud of him, he's already talking about next year and what he wants to change and keep.

a Boy? Two boys? Another Baby?

Have I mentioned how busy August was for this family?!? Well did I fail to mention there is another grandbaby on my husband's side of the family...yep we have been some baby making fools these past 3 years....

Keith, the oldest Bowers, and his soon to be wife Jamie welcomed Brantlee to the family 2 weeks early in August.

When I woke up to a text from my brother in law, I assumed, she had 'gone' into labor and we would play the waiting game. But just as his big brother Adyn, Brantlee wasnt playing any games, he was ready to get out of that belly and meet the world. So I dont even think 6 hours after her water broke, he was here and my text was actually a picture giving me the weight and length.

So now this Bowers crew now has 3 little princesses and 2 little princes.

I had told ya before if there were anymore babies coming, it definitely wasnt coming from me...but the other boys may surprise us...SURPRISE!!

Absolutely a blessing, once again, and cannot wait to see whats in store when these 5 are a little older...Adyn and Ava are already running around causing trouble together....its only going to get crazier, busier, and more fun I am sure!

Such a good big brother already

Keith's new little family

he is a tiny little booger butt!

Vending for Thirty One

Being a vendor is not a new experience. I have had plenty of jobs before that required me to sit at a table and speak to people I dont know. When I was with Berkeley County Schools, we had a few times we were at the mall, with the CVB (visitors center), we set up a couple times of a year and I was able to go to the State Fair while there to help man a table.

In the month of August I got the opportunity to be a vendor at the Youth Fair and then Martinsburg Bike Night. Both nights were a little busy, a little slow, and a little interesting.

It was an experience, a eye opener, I know what to improve on, I know what to change, I know what NOT to do next time. I am sure the more I do it the better I will get at it.

Getting my business name out there and my chances of helping those that want to become more involved with Thirty One is a great thing with these vending events. I cannot wait until next year to start fresh and get on billet for several different organizations and different events.

If anyone that is reading this knows of an event that would be great for Thirty-One I would love any information, you can email me. I love meeting new people, I love getting out there and speaking with people about a product I love.

The Almondina Cookie Giveaway

Welcome to the Almondina Cookie Giveaway.

Cannot wait for you to take advantage of this awesome giveaway!!
Tee time Almondina Cookie style.

This giveaway is brought to you by Almondina

The giveaway is hosted by Couponing With Integrity and Giveaway Gator.
The British got a few things right in my opinion and one of those things is Tea time. The British believed that part of being civilized is having the good sense to know when to take a break and relax. I can't agree more. Even during the wars that they fought all over the globe the Brits would cease fire and break for tea time at at around 10 am. The Brits were usually most annoyed at the uncouth enemies that they were fighting against for not having the common courtesy to stop shooting at them while they were enjoying their tea.
I like a good cup of Earl Grey tea. I drink mostly coffee but I like the traditional morning tea time too. I even drink it out a proper tea cup. Today I had the good luck of being provided with the ideal snack to go with my morning tea.
Almondina sent us a sample pack of some of their cookies to review. For my tea time snack I picked the Gingerspice, Choconut and the Sesame cookies. Last night when the cookies arrived we all had a taste of each of the cookie samples and the Gingerspice was a favorite for all of us so I considered myself lucky to have had the last few Gingerspice cookies with my tea.
About the "Cookie"
Almondina markets their product as a cookie but to me it is a biscuit. A biscuit is crunchy and can usually be snapped without it bending first. A cookie to me is moist and soft and Almondina is not moist or soft. Almondina "cookies" are good on their own but traditionally a biscuit is best had with a drink so Almondina accompanies coffee , tea or even wine perfectly. You can also use use Almondina to make a tasty cheese snack by smearing some soft cheeses between two Almondina cookies. I see a cookies as a treat and a biscuit as a snack and again Almondina shines greater as a snack than a treat. Almondina goes to great length to point out that they intend to provide you with a healthier snack. The companies motto is "To put a healthful cookie on every table" I'm personally very grateful for having discovered Almondina because I have missed biscuits. Here in America I find my family prefers the soft chewy cookies stuffed with chocolate or filling and that is just not for me. I prefer the crunchy ones and being able to dip my cookie or biscuits in my coffee or tea is a bonus too. This all-natural, crispy almond cookie has no cholesterol and no added fat, salt, or preservatives so I feel good about packing it in with the kids lunches for school. You can read more about the fascinating history behind Almondina and my favorite part, how they got their name here: Grandmother's Secret

A Girl and Her Bear...

When Ava was younger, under a year, she was attached to 2 favorite animals off and on, a frog that Kenny won out of a vending machine and a cat that I have had since I was a little girl.

She has fallen in love with a polar bear that was given to her this past Christmas by a cousin. She carries it around the house, cuddles with him, and it has even made its way to Vickies.

Shew! August is over!!

August was crazy! Not really sad to see it go but now life has settled down a little bit in this household. During the month of August Hailey turned, 10 months old, already walking and had 4 top teeth all come in at one time; Ava, 35 months old, became a potty trained FOOL!!!

In August I had the opportunity to do two vending events with Thirty One Gifts. I was at the Berkeley County Youth Fair and Martinsburg Bike Night. Both successful and both were a lot of fun. I met a lot of great people and made a few good contacts. I am actually working on a fundraiser now that I met at the Fair and the people I am working with are so nice and amazing. It has been a great experience. I hope that I get to do more vending events next year.

Kenny started teaching a little on the side along with his full time job and other part time position, so 3 positions, 1 person.

Ava got to enjoy the fair for really the first time, at almost 3, she is really turning into our 'big' girl and is able to do so much more now.

Ole Blue Eyes is making a name for herself in this house...she is all over the place now and able to do a little bit of her own thing. She has been walking since the 2nd week of August and is now almost running...its amazing how fast they grow and how fast they learn....

Lovable Sulley (voiced by John Goodman) and his wisecracking best friend Mike Wazowski (voiced by Billy Crystal) are the top scare team at Monsters, Inc., the largest scream-processing factory. The main power source in the monster world is the collected screams of human children—and at Monsters, Inc., an elite team of scarers is responsible for gathering those precious natural resources. But when a little girl named Boo (voiced by Mary Gibbs) accidentally follows Sulley back into his world, he finds his career in jeopardy and his life in utter chaos. OFFICIAL BOILERPLATE: “Monsters, Inc.,” one of Disney•Pixar’s most beloved and visually imaginative feature films ever, returns to the big screen to delight a whole new generation of audiences and fans alike, this time in stunning 3D. The now-classic Academy Award®-winning animated comedy adventure “Monsters, Inc.” is set in Monstropolis, a thriving company town where monsters of all shapes and sizes reside. Believed by monsters to be toxic, children are strictly forbidden from entering Monstropolis. But when a little girl named Boo (voiced by Mary Gibbs) accidentally follows Sulley back into his world, he finds his career in jeopardy and his life in utter chaos. So pals Mike and Sulley plot to rectify the mistake and return Boo to her home. But when the trio encounters an unexpected series of complications, they become embroiled in a cover-up catapulting them into a mystery beyond their wildest dreams.

Directed by Oscar®-winner Pete Docter (“Up”) and produced by Oscar nominee Darla K. Anderson (“Toy Story 3”), “Monsters, Inc.” features a screenplay by Andrew Stanton and Daniel Gerson and music by Randy Newman. Rated G by the MPAA, the film is in theaters—again—January 18, 2013, and will be presented in Disney Digital 3D® in select theaters.
