Blurb:
When horse racing and football collide, Hunter McCoy, star tight end of the Seattle Steelheads and neophyte horse owner, finds himself in a battle of wills with a sexy horsewoman and a stubborn, champion Thoroughbred. In order to save the farm and fulfill her dying mother's wish, Kate Vanderhof-Carrigan’s Thoroughbred has to beat Hunter's horse in the Derby, an easy enough feat until her heart entered the race. Lilli McCoy, Hunter's sister, has been burned by men before, but she'd believed her last boyfriend was The One. He wasn't. He couldn't deal with Lilli's disability and used her blindness as tool to cheat on her. Reeling from the betrayal, Lilli returns home to lick her wounds. She hadn't factored in the instant attraction she’d feel for her brother's playboy teammate, Cameron Swift. One playboy in her life should've been enough.

Review:
This is the second book I've read that has more than 2 point of views and I am liking it. Game Changer tells us about Hunter and his sister Lilli along with his rival Kate and his teammate Cam. It was interesting to see the events unfold in other's eyes and not just the 2 main characters. Lilli and Cam are absolutely secondary characters but their feelings are felt when they are sharing with us what is going on around them.

Hunter is making a name for himself and trying to be the best brother he can to Lilli. Horse racing comes into play at some point in his adult life and he tries it out. This is where he meets, Kate, who is trying to maintain control of the family horse business.

These two really give each other a run for their money. They are snarky, sarcastic, and then are all over each other. I loved the chemistry with these two. I liked that Hunter was our insecure character even though Kate had her moments. Hunter worried that Kate, not being Native American, would hender his life and not accept his culture. He allowed this to mess things up.

Kate showed us that having a backbone can mean something. She fights through the whole book, fights with herself the most but at the end of the day, she learns that she cannot have total control.

Hunter finally realizes that what is meant to be in his eyes may not be what is destined for him. He learns that he needs to trust himself and go after what he believes is right. Between the football games, the races, and the banter between these two it was a busy and fast paced story.

Read:: Roman by Sawyer Bennett

Swoon. Roman is a good man. Roman is a bit of a loner that doesn't understand family values but by the end his is learning. He is a new player to the Cold Fury hockey team, with a year under his belt, he is still learning the ropes. He is the enforcer, the bad boy, the butt kicker of the team.

Lexi has been in NC for a few months, her mother dying of cancer and leaving her with a piece of news that she must act one. Sawyer did a great job surprising us with this one. Bringing Lexi in and having that dynamic of the Cold Fury organization change was a nice way to show the soft side of both Gray and Brian.

We get to see Roman go from hard to soft when he is speaking to Lexi. We get to see these two get to know one another. The friendship that evolves with them is really nice to watch. We also get to see a little of Ryker and Gray with the girls. It is nice to get a little bit of the older characters, although I was disappointed there was no Zack, but I am selfish that way with my favorite Cold Fury player.

I cannot wait for Lucas's book this fall. Sawyer has many projects but I always anxiously await for the new book in this series.

New York Times bestselling author Sawyer Bennett steams up the ice all over again as the Carolina Cold Fury hockey team’s hottest bad boy gets his first taste of something good.
In a league full of troublemakers, Cold Fury defenseman Roman Sýkora stands out—at least when it comes to negative publicity. When he’s not chilling in the penalty box, the sizzling Czech skate demon is racking up tabloid headlines for his scandalous behavior with the ladies. But now Roman’s feeling the burn from management to clean up his act, or else. Luckily he’s got an enticing distraction: a fun-loving barista who plays the ukulele and brings out a side of Roman he didn’t know he had.

Lexi Robertson came to Raleigh, North Carolina, to finally meet her father, Brian Brannon, and her half sister, Gray, both of whom work in the Cold Fury’s front office. That’s where she first meets sexy, intimidating Roman—who’s really a big softie at heart. As one relationship takes off, another begins: Brian seems to be clicking with Lexi’s boss at the coffee shop. But when the friction between Roman and her new family heats up, Lexi wonders whether she’s a pawn in their game. Feeling hurt and foolish, Lexi’s ready to quit while she’s ahead. Trouble is, Roman’s not ready to quit on her.

Review::

This was a good story of the poor boy that loved the rich girl but couldn't keep her in reach. Coming back he proves that he can do just as well as her family and he harbors a hate that he just wants to sock it to Cassie over and over again. He cant let go that her family did his wrong. I felt bad for Cassie because she had absolutely nothing in it. She was clueless to what her family did and yet Derek keeps punishing her for it.

The book flowed well, Carly tells us a great story of two people that have to grown individually before growing as a couple. I was happy when Derek got his head out of his butt and realized that he needed Cassie.

Cheater.jpg

Blurb
Lucas Thorn wasn’t born a cheater. All it took was a single moment—say, a certain disastrous incident on the night before his wedding—and boom. Reputation destroyed forever and always. So now he owns it. He has a lady friend for every night of the week (except Sundays—God’s day and all), and his rules are simple: No commitments. No exceptions.

But a certain smart-mouthed, strawberry blonde vixen is about to blow that all to hell.

Avery Black has never forgiven Lucas for cheating on her sister. And suddenly being forced to work with him is pretty much a nightmare on steroids. Of course, it does afford her the opportunity to make his life as difficult as possible. But no good revenge scheme comes without payback. Because he didn’t become the Lucas Thorn without learning a few things about women.

Now Avery’s lust for vengeance has turned into, well, lust. And if Lucas stops cheating, it’s definitely not because he’s falling in love…

cheater teaser 4.jpg
Excerpt

One night.
It was all I needed anyway, right? It’s not as if he was going to really commit to me, marry me, offer to impregnate me and father all our children.
“Are you sure about this, Avery?” He cupped my face with his rough hands. “You still have a choice. You can turn that cute ass around and march out that door—hell, you can even slam it on the way out. I’ll even let you keep the steak.”
“Are you offering me an out?”
He nodded.
“Do you offer that to every girl?”
Another nod.
“Do they ever take it?”
“Sometimes.”
“What do you want me to do?”
He paused. “You know, nobody has ever asked me that before.”
Probably because nobody cared about what else he had to offer besides what was dangling between his legs.
“I’m asking. Right now.” I wrapped my arms around his neck. “What does Thorn want?”
“You didn’t full-name me.”
“It seems to make you even more arrogant, God forbid.”
His grin made me weak, so weak that I had to hold on to him for strength. Funny how things come full circle. How he’d always been my rock.
Dependable.
Loving.
And now?
He held all the power. Lucas Thorn . . . could destroy me.
“Stay.” He brushed a soft kiss across my lower lip. “I want you to stay.”
cheater teaser.jpg

Review::
Lucas, Lucas, Lucas, how many times can you shake your head at this boy before he gets it right. A man that thinks if he is open with 6 women about sleeping with the others that he isn't cheating. A man that thinks that as long as he is honest about where he stands, none will get hurt or attached. Boy is he wrong.

Avery knows Lucas well. He was after all her best friend when she was younger, set to marry her sister. They were close, he was her hero. She felt betrayed when it didn't work out with her sister. He left, never even saying goodbye.

The banter between these two made the book. It was cute, normal, and reminded me a little of people I know. They kept each other on their toes and didn't let each other off the hook. They were honest which was refreshing until it came to their feelings. Why? Because real feelings always get in the way.

As long as you can get past the whole he was going to marry her sister and is now with her plot, you will be good. I personally ignored it and moved to the story line.

Read:: Slide (Boosted Hearts Book 3) by Sherilee Gray

This was a great story of forbidden love with just enough to keep you on edge of whether they would find their way or not. There was a lot going on in this book and Adam could be a real jackass and Lucy was really out there at times with her ways of doing things but at the end they both came together.

This is my first read from Sherilee and I enjoyed the read. I enjoyed the book and the characters that surrounded Adam and Lucy.

Pucked Off, an all-new emotional and sexy STANDALONE from Helena Hunting is LIVE!!

Pucked Off by Helena Hunting Genre: Contemporary Romance

businessman working on laptop in black suit

***A Standalone novel in The Pucked Series***
I’m NHL defenseman Lance Romero, AKA Lance “Romance."
I’m notorious for parties and excess. I have the most penalty minutes in the league. I get into the most fights. I take the most hits. I’m a player on and off the ice. I’m the one women with no inhibitions want.
Not because I like the notoriety, but because I don’t know how to be any other way.
I have secrets. Ones I shared with the wrong person, and she used them against me. Sometimes she still does. I should cut ties. But she makes it difficult, because she’s the kind of bad I deserve.
At least that’s what I believed until someone from my past gets caught up in my present. She’s all the good things in this world. She lights up my dark.
I shouldn’t want her.
But I do.
I should leave her alone.
But I won’t.

Excerpt:

Armed with my clipboard, I walk down the hall to the waiting room. Lance is impossible to miss. Despite the fact that he’s wearing a sweatshirt and the hood is covering half of his face, he’s more than six feet of broad, hockey-playing man. He’s so wide his shoulders encroach on the chairs on either side, which would explain why no one is sitting next to him. He’s slouched down so his head rests on the back of the chair, and his hands are clasped in his lap, a baseball cap hanging off one knee. His lips, plush and soft—I know since I’ve had them on mine; it might have been a decade ago, but I remember it clearly—are parted. He looks like he’s asleep. I clear my throat. “Lance Romero?” He doesn’t move. Bernadette, the receptionist, gives me a meaningful look. I clear my throat again and call his name a second time. He jolts awake and the hood falls back, exposing his face. It’s not in good shape. He has a black eye and bruises on his left cheek. There’s a fly bandage across one eyebrow. Sadly, he’s still hot. He blinks a few times, yawns, and smacks his lips, his tongue touching the split in the bottom one. His gaze sweeps the room and finally lands on me. Heat explodes in my cheeks and courses through my limbs, warming me from the inside out as he starts at my sneaker-clad feet and roams up over my yoga pants to my company-issued T-shirt before stopping at my face. I can’t look directly at him for more than a couple of seconds. I sincerely hope he doesn’t remember me. I cannot go there and also be professional. I’m sure the smile he gives me has melted many a panty off a slutty bunny. Mine stay right where they’re supposed to, wedged up my ass. I force a polite, professional veneer. “I’m ready for you now.”

Release with Review:: Dare to Dream by C.A. Harms

DARE TO DREAM by CA Harms
SERIES: A Carolina Beach Novel
GENRE: Contemporary Romance
AVAILABLE ON KINDLE UNLIMITED
RELEASE DATE: February 14th 2017
After the sudden death of his wife two years ago, Darren Griffin has finally found peace. He has a good life, good job, two daughters he’d do anything for, and a beautiful home on the beach.
Greer Monroe is grieving the loss of her father. It’s the final rung on the broken ladder that’s become her life—crappy job, no friends, and a cheating ex-boyfriend. At the insistence of her aunt, Greer decides to spend some time at her family’s beach house.
When the glee-filled sound of children’s laughter dances through the breeze, Greer finds herself smiling again. The neighbor girls are carefree, depicting a life Greer has only dreamed about. Husband, children, happiness—a family. And their father, Darren, he’s everything a woman could ever want.
But it is, of course, only a dream.
She can’t stay at Carolina Beach, no matter how much she adores Darren and his daughters. She has responsibilities at home, a mother who needs her. Where there’s love, there’s heartbreak, and she can’t go through that again. And she sure as hell won’t do that to those little girls.
But Darren isn’t letting her go that easily. It’s been so long since he’s felt this way for anyone. Greer is his missing piece, a piece he never thought he’d find.
Saying goodbye is hard, but sometimes starting over is even harder.
Only when they dare to dream again, will they ever dare to love.
Darren’s POV
“Are they both asleep?” Greer asked as I stepped out onto the deck and handed her a glass of wine.

“Yes,” I said. “They both slowly gave in after they talked about you for at least ten minutes.”

She smiled as she lifted the glass to her mouth. I couldn’t help but watch closely as it came in contact with her plump, full lips, distracting me from my thoughts. The way she tipped the glass and the way her throat bobbed when she swallowed was so sexy.

“I had a great time; they’re both amazing,” she assured me as she lowered her glass and brought it to rest on the deck railing.

I was lost for a moment watching her profile as she looked out toward the water in the distance. She appeared so at peace, so settled. It was a feeling I wasn’t familiar with. Instead I found myself wanting to do whatever it took to keep her.

I stepped closer and my movements caused her to look up. Without any further delay, fearing if I didn’t do it now, I wouldn’t make the move, I lifted my hand and skimmed my palm over her cheek as I slid it farther into her hair.

“I don’t think I told you that you’re amazing,” I whispered as I moved my body even closer to hers, feeling her chest pressed firmly to mine.

“You did, but I sort of like hearing it,” she confessed as her eyes shifted from mine to my mouth, then back again to meet my gaze.

There was a silent pause just before I moved in, finally closing that last amount of distance between us. Her lips pressed to mine, and I hooked my arm around her waist and held her as close as I possibly could. A gentle brush of my tongue caused her lips to part, and I moved in, taking full advantage. That was the kind of guy I was, demanding, greedy. I just hadn’t been him for so long. But Greer ignited a need inside me that had been hidden someplace down deep.

It felt extraordinary to be a man with needs and wants and to act on them again. It was freeing and natural, and I knew in that moment that had I allowed my desires to go as far as my mind was screaming for them to go, I would have had her backed up against the house and panting my name in seconds.

But I had to move slowly, not only for her but for me. Because Greer, I could already tell, could be very addicting.

I pulled back from the kiss and rested my forehead against hers, and for a moment we both just remained connected, breathing as evenly as possible. My pulse raced and my body hummed from just one kiss. My lips tingled, begging for more.

She slid her hand beneath the back of my shirt, and the connection ignited my need again as I took her mouth once more. This time, I devoured her lips. The desire to stop was now long gone, replaced by deep hunger.

“Darren,” she panted against my mouth as she dug her fingers into my back.

“I know,” I said, though I wasn’t sure why. Maybe I was telling her I felt it too, or maybe I was agreeing that this was just too much.

I was torn between stopping this before it went further and taking what I needed.

“Daddy.”

My daughter’s voice broke us apart, and I backed away from Greer as if an ice-cold glass of water had been dumped over me.

Greer fumbled to right herself and knocked her wineglass onto the floor in the process. The look on her face gave me all the confirmation I needed that the moment we’d shared was now over.

Review::
This story gets you by the heart strings. Greer gets a hard break, with the prologue I thought this was going to be a best friends turned lovers story but the best friend ends up being a scumbag. Greer is going through her fathers untimely death and Tucker's untimely extracurricular activities, she needs a break and is sent to the beach.

Darren is busy raising his little girls, trying to get through the day. He appreciates the time he has been given with them since the passing of his wife. He never expected the surprise of the blonde bombshell that occupies the house next door.

They connect quick, they feel like they have known each other forever, and they are happy. Darren's little girls are so sweet and really take over the scenes when they are involved. They have such a thrust for live. They bring Greer into their home and make her part of the family as soon as they meet her.

After a few ups and downs and some miscommunication, Darren gets his butt in gear and makes sure that Greer never leaves his home again.

A little about me. Let’s see where to start.
I love HEA stories, as long as they come packing a little heat. I need some excitement, some angst, and moments that make me fan my face are always good too. I am an Illinois girl, born and raised. Simple and true, it honestly doesn’t take much to make me happy. I love the little things; they truly mean the most. I may have a slight addiction to my new Keurig—oh my, that thing is a godsend. And so fast too. I have two children who truly are my very best friends, and their faces never fail to put a smile on my face. I have been married to my husband for sixteen years, and even though at times I want to beat him with a stick, I would never change the years we have had. We have learned and fallen, only to pick each other up, dust off the ache, and help each other make it right.
I am one of those authors that adore my fans. I love to hear from you. After all, it is because of each one of you that I continue to write. I look forward to your feedback.
Be sure to follow me to stay up-to-date on all my upcoming releases.
