I Like to Write:: Devotional--Eve

I have began a year long devotional, The Women of the Bible by Ann Spangler and Jean Syswerda. I need to get used to thinking and writing about what is going on with these stories. How do they affect me? How did that journey begin mine? If that woman didn't come along, would my life be different.

Eve is the first woman presented to us. Eve had it made, then that serpent came along and it all went down hill.

Eve is made out of Adam. She is a part of him for the rest of her life. She was made just for him. I believe that there is one woman made for one man. Of course, you might have to try on a few before you find one that fits just right, but I think there is that one that is for you. I'm not prude I had a long term boyfriend through high school then a few friends in college before meeting my husband. After meeting my husband, I can tell you honestly, there was a reason I went through the other guys. There is a reason I had to have my heart broken the first time. We are one in the same. We just work. I could not imagine life with anyone else.

Although women throughout history will pay for her sin I believe it's something that has made life worth it all. Labor is a gratifying feeling. Knowing that your body held a child for months, feed and kept that baby safe inside you. As Eve birthed her children with pain and panting, we also do. This connection with other women is something that was brought upon us from Him.

Eve learned from her sins and tried to make them right. She carried on after that sin giving birth and living with her mistakes but also becoming the woman she was.
