Book Haven Book Blog - “Completely phenomenal!! This book filled me with nostalgia for the power and longevity of a first time love, and literally brought me to my knees at 3am in a puddled mess on the floor when it was all over because I lost an entire day with Sebastian and Tessa.”
It only takes one night—one moment, one small snippet of time—to change everything. At sixteen-years-old, Sebastian Baxter taught me that. He taught me a lot of things.
He never had to work for my heart. In some unexplainable way I think it had always belonged to him anyway.
We spent years loving each other, hurting each other, trying to forget each other, but no matter how hard I tried, I could never erase the memory of him. His eyes, his smile, his touch—these are all things that are embedded in my brain, tattooed on my skin, and etched into my heart.
Some might think our love story is over, but deep down I know it’s only just beginning.
Because it’s not about where the night begins, it’s about where it ends…
Where the Night Ends is a standalone, coming of age, romance.
Review:
Wow. I was just wowed. This story took us through so much heartache. We meet Tess, 15 years old, and just learning about relationships. Sebastian is the all star football player. He is unhappy with life yet Tess shines a little light. They are instantly stuck to each other's hip. Sebastian would not let her have a moment he wasn't around. It took me right back to high school myself. That boy that grabs your heart and you know he will break it but you just don't want to believe it. I kept waiting for Sebastian to screw up, with the reputation and all. Yet he was perfect.
They have to make hard decisions. I will give Melissa a lot of credit, she allowed these two to find themselves. No one gave up anything or had resentment so that the other could go forward. It was selfish yet mature. It was heartbreaking while peaceful. I was thankful Tess was able to go to her college without feeling like she gave anything up. I am thankful that these two were able to grow up and realize that was happened needed to for themselves.
Sebastian though, he finally has enough, these two are close to mid 20's and still the timing just isn't right. He doesn't care, he comes running for His Girl. I loved the emotion felt in this book. I loved that you felt that heart tug. I loved that it felt real, nothing crazy happened, real life happened. There were areas that I would shake my head remembering my teenage years and decisions that had to made.
This was my first read and it will not be my last.
