Release with Review:: Ryan's Bed by Tijan

Mackenzie and Ryan. Ryan and Mackenzie. How do two people who never met become attached to each other over night? He calms her. She brings him back to life. These teenagers are dealing with adult issues yet they aren't guided to really deal. They are forgotten, left behind, and ignored. These parents, where were they? Oh yea, they were trying to figure out life too.

Mackenzie's parents completely went into their own little worlds. They worked, tried to forget, and pushed on only by breathing. Doing this, they had no clue they left behind a 18 year old daughter who just needed to be seen.

Ryan doesn't really speak to anyone. He focuses on ball and puts on a brave face to handle the crowd. He, though, without words, knows how to bring Mackenzie out of her thoughts and into the present.
This book was beautifully written. It drug me through every emotion and mentally wore me out. I just wanted it all better, but can it ever be better? Tijan takes us through it all and lets us know that it can be better, it just takes time.

I crawled into Ryan Jensen’s bed that first night by accident.

I barely knew him. I thought it was his sister’s bed—her room. It took seconds to realize my error, and I should've left...
I didn’t. I didn’t jump out. I didn’t get embarrassed.
I relaxed.
And that night, in that moment, it was the only thing I craved.

I asked to stay. He let me, and I slept.

The truth? I never wanted to leave his bed. If I could've stayed forever, I would have.
He became my sanctuary.

Because—four hours earlier—my twin sister killed herself.
