After a few books, this one gives us the ending of Jake and Alyssa. Their story began in their teens, falling in love early and having a relationship that was destructive and bad for both. As they figure out life for themselves apart and together we get our fill of drama.
Alyssa is a few years younger than Jake. By the time he is graduating high school and moving on with his band, she is just getting into high school. This book picks up in their twenties. Jake has been through his band, in and out of rehab, and is now trying solo. Alyssa is trying to work. She is in a committed relationship and supposed to be planning a wedding.
Jake enters her life yet again. He cant seem to just let her go. She needs to spread her wings, kept he keeps clipping them. This book takes a long time for them to get to a good place. Ann doesn't rush this reunion, allowing both to figure out what it is they need.
It was a nice story for the YA genre. I am not big on the whole cliffhanger and multiple books but this was a good story with lots of action.
