Read:: Finding Hope by Evan Grace

We met Jonathon in Tessa's story. Her over protective brother. He went through a lot of pain as a young man and is trying to live life the way he only knows how: Taking care of his sister and his daughter. Jonathon is at a bar one evening with friends when a red head gets his attention behind the bar. He feels stuck because he doesn't know if he will ever give his heart to another.

Shannon, deaf since the age of four, is a bartender at her parents bar. She is working one evening when the striking blonde tall man comes in and keeps making eye contact. She knows right away he is going to be trouble but she cannot say no.

Jonathon does care about her voice, doesn't care that she wears a special device to help her hear. He can only see her beautiful face. He has so many issues with love. He doesn't see how he can give his heart again, knowing that there is a chance that he could lose it.

This story was a lot of heart break. He continues for a year to 'use' Shannon, repeating telling her how much he loved his dead wife. He repeatedly tells her that there is no future. He continually compares her to a ghost. I don't know who Shannon does it, but she is strong for a year but when something crazy and unplanned happens in her life, she decides to cut the cord. She lets Jonathon know that she cannot be that woman for him any longer.

Of course this doesn't last long, when he calls needing her help with his daughter she is there for him. She didn't fight as much as I thought she would with the initial 'don't call me, don't contact me, I'll do this on my own' but she gives in pretty easily. I can't even say I blame her, when the man you love is your weakness, its hard to stay mad, its hard to not allow him in your life.
These two struggle for a long time before coming to terms with the love they share. It was a very emotional read.

Jonathan Brooks knows what it’s like to find the kind of love most people only dream of. He also knows what it’s like to lose it in the worst possible way.

After burying his wife and the mother of his daughter, Jonathan lost all faith in love. He struggles to cope with his grief, being a single parent to Josie, as well as taking care of his younger sister Tessa, and he’s convinced he will never be able to love anyone again.

Deaf since the age of four, Shannon O’Tool has always been a fighter and never allowed her disability to define her.

She’s a strong woman, and when the attractive Officer Brooks makes her an offer that promises nights of pleasure, but excludes any and every kind of emotional entanglement, the redhead beauty is convinced she can handle it.

When the unexpected happens, life-changing decisions must be made.

Determined not to open his heart to anyone, Jonathan does everything he can to keep himself as distant from Shannon as possible. But when their agreement to keep things strictly physical turns into something neither of them expected, Jonathan is once again forced to deal with the fact that life doesn’t always turn out the way you want it to.

Jonathan must choose—
Hold on to the past, or be strong enough to let it go in time to realize that he might just be able to find hope…
