Verve Romance ~ "Crazy hot, super sweet, and with one of the most rewarding epilogues I've ever read, An Unexpected Turn was an absolute joy to read."
Booklover Judy Lynn ~ "There are some hot and steamy times, some very romantic and swoon-worthy moments, and times filled with heart-warming emotion."
Pages with Payten ~ "the white hot chemistry between Peyton and Jake is undeniable"
Kristina Hearts Books ~ "If the age gap, forbidden elements, small town vibe, and real adult communication weren't enough the heat is sizzling between Peyton and Jake!"

Peyton
After a risky affair cost me my self-respect, my credibility, and almost my job, I jump at the guidance counselor position that opens up in Uncle Keith’s small town. He’s the only father I’ve ever really known and the one I can turn to—even when I can’t tell him why.

No one here knows what a mess I am, and this clean slate seems perfect. At least until I run into my old crush, who’s only gotten better looking with age.

I won’t be another man’s dirty little secret, even if that crush I had as a teenager blossomed into something much more—something I can’t face.

Reasons Why Absolutely Nothing Can Happen Between Us:
1. Jake is the single dad of one of my new students.
2. Age gap. Age gap. Age gap.
3. He’s my uncle’s best friend.

Jake
I didn’t realize the curvy brunette I flirted with outside my son’s school was my buddy’s sweet, shy niece, all grown-up now. I know better than to get involved.

My marriage crumbled, leaving me and my son with damage we’re still repairing. The last thing I need is to start something with someone fourteen years younger. Did I mention she’s the police chief’s surrogate daughter?

I’m old enough to know better, but I can’t keep my hands off her. I never expected to fall this hard. Even though it’s all wrong, nothing has ever felt this right.

Author’s Note: This deliciously scandalous, small-town, single dad standalone includes steamy times in front of a kitchen sink, a hot new use for a chocolate ice cream cone, and an alpha cinnamon-roll hero who’s very good with his hands.

Review:
Peyton and Jake are a slow burn. The age gap, the small town, the best friend...it could all ruin what they have. They keep it to themselves so they can enjoy the new relationship. This story was super sweet and I liked them together.

Stephanie Rose is a badass New Yorker, a wife, a mother, and lover of all things chocolate. Most days you'll find her trying to avoid standing on discarded LEGO or deciding which book to read next. Her debut novel, Always You, released in 2015, and since then she's written several more—some of which will never see completion—and has ideas for hundreds to come.

Review:
Clarabella and Luke's story is cute. They had a wonderful night together that Luke deemed a mistake and hit the road soon after. Clarabella went on with life even if he broke her heart a little. Soon comes a relationship that moves quickly. Next thing she knows she is getting ready to walk down the aisle and Luke is catering the reception. Their story is adorable and allows a friendship to blossom from the chemistry that consumed them so many months ago.

Release with Review:: The Last One You Love by LJ Evans

Title: The Last One You Loved
Author: LJ Evans
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: September 14, 2022

Maddox
Between my badge, my daughter, and my hometown, I’ve got a busy life. It’s a mostly happy one. But late at night, when the house is quiet, I still see her face. McKenna may have left me and this town behind a decade ago, but a century wouldn’t be long enough to get over her.

There’s only one thing worse than never seeing her again. If she came back, the secret I’ve been keeping would destroy lives. Mine included. As long as she stays gone, everyone is safe.

McKenna
When my world catches fire, destroying the dreams I’ve sacrificed so much for, there’s only one place I can think to go. One man I can run to. But going back is no homecoming. Sheriff Maddox Hatley hasn’t forgotten me. And he sure hasn’t forgiven me either.

He’s hiding something beneath all that anger. I’m going to stick around until I find out what it is.

Inspired by Jon Pardi’s “Ain’t Always the Cowboy” and Lee Brice’s “Memory I Don’t Mess With,” this second-chance, single-dad, forced-proximity love story will tug at your soul, make you laugh and cry, and leave you with a smile on your face.

Review:
The first few pages of this story will have your heart in your throat, it did mine. It will show you that the heart can heart and not heal until that person, your person, returns. McKenna returns to the one place she knows she can be safe but the one place where she knows she isn't welcome. She needs to return. McKenna's story with so many beautiful twists broke my heart and I just wanted to make it all better. I didn't need to though because Maddox did that for me. He helped when he knew he needed to, he allowed her back in even though he was scared, and I fell in love with his vulnerability.

Award-winning author LJ Evans writes achingly heartfelt slow-burns with deep, relatable characters, true friends, real "family", and dreams remade on this wild ride called life.

She lives in the Central Valley of California with her husband, child, and the three terrors called cats. She's been writing, almost as a compulsion, since she was a little girl and will often pull the car over to write when a song lyric strikes her. A former 1st-grade teacher, she now spends her free time reading and writing, as well as binge-watching original shows like The Crown, A Discovery of Witches, Veronica Mars and Stranger Things.

If you ask her the one thing she won’t do, it’s pretty much anything that involves dirt—sports, gardening, or otherwise. But she loves to write about all of those things, and her first published heroine was pretty much involved with dirt on a daily basis. Which is exactly why LJ loves fiction novels—the characters can be everything you’re not and still make their way into your heart.
